Sevilla, the heart of Andalusia, is a popular year round destination due to its weather. Sevilla benefits from oceanic influences, creating a Mediterranean climate. The average temperature is 26°C (78° F). While the winters tend to be much milder, the summer months of July and August tend to get very hot, encouraging many to travel to the numerous beautiful beaches located within 40 mins of Sevilla.
Weather in Spain: Fall
Fall is when Sevillanos return to Sevilla after their month long vacation at the beach. The temperatures are cooling off and people are out and about enjoying the cool breezes and a tinto de verano by the river.
Weather in Spain: Winter
January and February are the coldest months in Sevilla, but cold is relative as here the average winter temperatures are 11°/12°C (52-54°F). The mild winters also include mini heatwaves in which people are outside on a terraza drinking coffee in short sleeves!
Weather in Spain: Spring
Beach Time! Beach temperatures in spring are warm enough to be at the beach all day yet cool enough not to burn (well at least not turn as red as a lobster!). Thus, this is a great time to travel to the beach. During Easter holiday, many Sevillanos flock to the beach.
Weather in Spain: Summer
June and July are the hottest months, thus, Sevillanos use their vacation time to reside at their beach houses for a month! (yes, they get a month of vacation time here!) People tend not to leave their houses between the hours of 2-6pm as they are the hottest hours in Seville during the summer. However, at night time, Sevilla comes alive and people fill the streets enjoying a cerveza in a local tapa bar or dancing at terrazas (outside discotecas) where people can dance the night away under the stars!
