International and Vegetarian Cuisine

If you know where to look in Sevilla, you can find food for almost any craving. Except Thai food, Sevilla needs a Thai restaurant!!

Vegetarian note:  Every restaurant on this list (except for those in the American food section) offers at least a small vegetarian selection.

Middle Eastern

Ali Baba
Calle Betis, 5
Tel. 649 53 74 49

Pita Pan
Calle Menendez Pelayo  (across from the Jardines de Murillo)
Tel. 954 536 842

Ali Baba and Pita Pan are owned by brothers who know how to make excellent Middle Eastern food.  Ali Baba serves up good and, sometimes quick, Middle Eastern food.  It is a good place to go for authentic and inexpensive food along the riverfront.  Several vegetarian options make this a good spot for non-meat eaters.  Pita Pan has a true Arabic atmosphere and is one of the best places to get a bite in Sevilla.  You can enjoy a huge meal, sample some of the desserts (some of the best you will find anywhere), and smoke flavored tobacco from the traditional water pipes (arguila, or hookah), all while barely spending a thing.  You can't ask for much more than that.

Mixed bag of tasty restaurants

Thai Mos
Avenida de Malaga, 6
Tel. 954 532 910

Thai Mos offers decently inexpensive Thai food that tastes suspiciously Spanish.  If you're craving some Thai flavor, it will work, but don't expect the kind of Thai you get at home.

La Huerta Mediteránea
Plaza de los Terceros, 9
Tel. 954 216 346

This is a great little spot with a little of everything.  The menu offers a large selection of Mediterranean and vegetarian options, and everything is tasty.

Badulaque
La Alameda de Hércules, 54
Tel. 954 908 268

Anyone know where the name comes from? This restaurant offers pizzas, salads, and calzones.  It has a young, free-spirited feel to it, and there are plenty of vegetarian options.

El Refugio
Calle Huelva, 5 A

Owned by the same people as Badulaque, here you can find a mixture of Argentine parrillada and tasty salads, sandwiches and vegetable dishes.  They also have a great menú del día.

Ajo Blanco
Call Alhóndigas, 19
Tel. 954 229 320

Strangely decorated with old newspapers, Ajo Blanco offers some interesting tapas, dishes, and even some vegetarian food.  It is fairly cheap as well.

La Creperí
Perez Galdos, 22

As you might have imagined, they serve crepes.  They also offer a whole lot more in this restaurant in the Alfalfa area.

Italian

Al Solito Posto

Calle Huelva, 8 (RIght off the Plaza de Jesús de la Pasión)
Tel. 954 220 917

A fairly new Italian restaurant, with a great atmosphere and menu to match.  This is not your typical pizza place.  Pizzas are baked fresh right next to the bar and is highly recommended.  The menu offers very good, traditional Italian cuisine at good prices.

Maccheroni
Calle Harinas, 13
Tel. 954 50 1015

Located about a block from the Cathedral, this place has great, cheap pasta. It is tasty and the service is what you would expect from a non-Spanish restaurant. They are attentive and have good customer service. All three penne dishes are worth trying.

Orsini Pizzeros
Reyes Catolicos, 25 b
Calle Luchana, 2
Tel. 954 216 165

Right across from the Triana bridge, this is a great little spot to eat al fresco.  They have tasty pizza and pasta, and the atmosphere is cozy and hip.  Well worth a look and not too expensive.

La Mia Tana
Calle Perez Galdos, 24 (just around the corner from Plaza Alfalfa)
Tel. 954 226 897

Good Italian pizzeria style food is on hand at reasonable prices at La Mia Tana.  Great to go before or after taking shots in Alfalfa.

Porta Rossa
Pastor y Landero, 20 (a block behind the Plaza de Toros)
Tel. 954 216 139

This well known restaurant with the signature red door serves more gourmet Italian fare.  The menu is a little more expensive than others, but well worth it.  Reservations are a must on weekends, but it's neither too pricey nor too snobby to be counted out.  The food is excellent, and their desserts are outstanding.

San Marco
Mesón del Moro, 6-10 (in barrio Santa Cruz)
Tel. 954 214 390

One of the most unique restaurants in the city, the San Marco is located in an ancient Moorish bath house.  Always crowded, it is a definite must see for tourists.  Most importantly, the food is quite good as well.

Moroccan

Al Medina
San Roque, 13 (By the Museo Bellas Artes)
Tel. 954 215 451

Known as one of the better Morrocan restaurants in Sevilla, Al Medina specializes in authentic Arabic and North African fare.

Cuban

La Habanita
Calle Golfo, 3 (Alfalfa)
Tel. 606 716 456

La Habanita serves healthy Cuban style food, vegetarian dishes, and local favorites as well.

Azucar de Cuba
Paseo de Las Delicias, 3 (along the riverfront)
Tel. 954 228 668

This restuarant is one of the few places that serves traditional Cuban food.  Latin music is almost always on hand and sometime performed live.  Also, later during the night it is one of the best places to dance salsa in the city.

Japanese

Kaede
Calle San Fernando, 2  (inside the Hotel Alfonso XIII)
Tel. 954 917 000
Lunch 13:00 - 15:30
Dinner 19:30 - 24:00

As with any restaurant located inside of a 5 star hotel, Kaede can be a bit more pricey than most restaurants in Sevilla.  However, it is the best sushi in town and always worth the splurge.   If you're looking for a fancy meal and you love great Japanese food, Kaede is the way to go.

Samurai Restaurant Japonés
Calle Salado, 6  (Triana)
Tel. 954 283 106

Looking for a taste of Japan but can't find enough dough in your wallet for a trip to Kaede?  Samurai has great sushi, udon, and noodle dishes, all at affordable prices.   A walk across the river for a bit of sushi or some hot noodle soup is definitely worth it!

Chinese

Restaurante Chino Palacio Oriental
Jesus del Gran Poder, 63

You will see menus from this place all over town.  They are tucked away near the Alameda de Hercules, but they will deliver anywhere.  In a town with few food delivery options, this is worth keeping in mind.

Restauranto Chino Perla
Avenida Poeta Manuel Benítez Carrasco, 18-20
Tel. 954 240 517

For traditional Chinese food, check out this restaurant located in the heart of Seville. It offers a wide selection of classic appetizers, vegetarian, and meat entrees sure to satisfy the pickiest of eaters.

Hang Zhou

 Mateos Gago, 7
Tel. 954 560 197

"Right behind the cathedral" restaurants have "right behind the cathedral" prices.  It is still not expensive though and serves decent Chinese food.

Ciudad Dong Hai
Aponte, 2
Tel. 954 381 358

Located in the Plaza del Duque, near El Corte Ingles, Ciudad Dong Hai is perfect for those on a budget craving some Chinese food.  This restaurant also has the best Chinese grocery store right next door.

American

Texas Lone Star Saloon
Calle Placentines, 25
Tel. 954 560 491

It is similar to American style tex mex joints in both food and atmosphere. Their nachos are some of the best in town.  Also, it's a good spot to catch American sporting events.

P. Flaherty
Calle Alemanes, 7
Tel. 954 210 451

Flahertys has great food and good service. Their extensive menu ranges from nachos and buffalo wings to Caesar salad and Irish breakfast. The menu will have all the comforts of home, including hamburgers made of ground beef! A little more expensive than a typical Spanish restaurant, but well worth it.

Fosters Hollywood
Plaza de Armas, 2nd floor
Tel. 954 906 078

Foster's Hollywood is a lesser known Hard Rock or Planet Hollywood  type restaurant. The food is good, and there are plenty of American dishes to choose from. The burgers are good, the salads are huge, and they even give you free refills on Coke. It´s also the only place in Sevilla you'll find cheese fries. Definitely worth checking out.

Starbucks Coffee
Avenida de la Constitucion, Puerta de Jerez, Nervion Plaza, Avenida de República Argentina, Calle Reyes Católicos

Starbucks is slowly but surely taking over Sevilla. In just a few years, 5 locations have popped up all over the city, causing some hefty competition to the local cafeterias and pastelerias. American travellers everywhere will be pleased to find their daily java within easy reach. They also serve up great sandwiches, salads, muffins, pastries, and cookies.

Greek

Helas
Calle Gonzalo Bilbao, 26 (across from the Santa Justa train station)
Tel. 954 534 844

The food here is very good, and the place has a cool atmosphere. The food is very authentic, and the pita bread is made fresh in the kitchen, not like other Greek restaurants in the city that use tortilla shells. For a quick bite try one of their Gyros and their Dolmadakia (rice wrapped in cabbage leaves).

Calle Javier Lasso de la Vega, 9
Tel. 954 328 681

Shalimar is located close to the Plaza del Duque and serves good Indian food at affordable prices.

This little spot tucked away, just blocks off Marques de Paradas and Reyes Catolicos, serves tasty and healthy veggie meals.  They offer everything from lasagna to cakes and pies.  It can fill up during the weekends, but the wait is usually not very long.
