If you blindly throw a rock in Sevilla, chances are, it will hit a bar. These places are a mainstay in Sevilla and there are way too many to count. It is up to you to find the best watering holes in your area--look for cheap drinks, good tapas, and friendly bartenders. Below is our list of some of the highlights in a city riddled with bars.
The following are DS picks for local bars:
Cervecería Internacional
Calle Gamazo, 3
Located about 30 seconds from the DiscoverSevilla office, this international beer house offers a seemingly unlimited number of beers from all around the globe, and they are fairly cheap. This is a great place to start the celebration of someones birthday, the end of exams, or even the end of any regular day of class. Again, its right by our office so stop by around 8:55 any weekday evening and convince us to make a pitstop before heading home for dinner!
Merchants Malt House
Calle Canalejas, 12
Merchant´s is a great spot to catch a game on the big screen or drink a cold Cruzcampo late night. Never too crowded, except for when there are big games, it's perfect for just relaxing with a couple friends and never having to wait at the bar. A great spot during the week and possibly the citys best sports bar. Also, get your WIFI connection here!
Fundición
Calle Pureza, 109 (the street right behind Betis)
Always a good bet for a good time on Calle Betis, Fundición attracts a crowd almost every night. Foreigners and Spaniards alike can be found taking advantage of fairly priced drinks and shooting some pool. Their best drink specials are on Tuesday nights when the place brings in an early week crowd for an all American mix of cheap alcohol and pop music.
Boreas
Plaza Puerta Real, 6
Boreas is where you want to go for something new and interesting. The tapas are original and tasty, the atmosphere is great, and they serve lunch and dinner as well. This is definitely a unique option in Sevilla.
Calle Betis .jpg)
Just across the river you will find the Calle Betis with bars and clubs on the waterfront.
Big Ben
Calle Betis, 54
Big Ben is a great spot to start the night and get drunk for 5 €. Shots and beers are only one euro every weekday and the place is almost always packed. The crowd is mostly international during the week, while on the weekends, there is a good mix of Spaniards and foreigners.
Mu dAqui
Calle Betis, 55
Usually less crowded than its next door neighbor Big Ben, Mu dAqui is another great place to enjoy cheap drinks with great music. They have a huge list of shots for just over 1€ each and a cerveza or tinto is priced about the same. They also have a bartender who looks just like Fabio!
Alhambique
Calle Betis, 56
A cozy, rectangular bar located a few doors from Big Ben. Alhambique is great if you like cheap drinks and an eclectic range of music--cheesy eighties music to Spanish pop. The benches against the wall are a comfortable option if you get tired of all the smoke in the air.
Long Island
Calle Troya (between Calle Betis and Calle Pureza)
As long as you are bar hopping on Betis, hop on into Long Island and take the shot designated to your home state. They have a list of 50 delicious shots and the walls and ceiling are covered with college and pro sport paraphernalia from all over the USA. Did we mention they have 1€ Jager Bombs!?!?
Lo Nuestro
Calle Betis, 31A
This is the place for those of you who would like an authentic, Sevillan bar. Live Flamenco is played nightly and the floor is packed with locals dancing the night away. If you want to learn Sevillanas from a Spaniard and have a great time, this is one of your best options.
Madigans
Plaza de Cuba, 2
Right outside Madigans is Plaza de Cuba, which makes it the ideal place to start the night. Madigans is a typical Irish pub with live sports on TV and American music playing in the background. The bar can make every drink you can think of, and they are pros at Irish car bombs.
El Arenal
El Arenal is the part of the Centro that is between the Avenida de la Constitución
and the river.
El Capote
Calle Arjona, s/n
(Open April - October)
Located next to the Puente de Triana, Capote is one of the best places to be on a
summer night. Not only is it riverfront, but it is also close to Alfalfa and right next to
Betis and makes a great place to start the night. The stairs right above it are also
a choice spot for el botellón. Beers are 2 € and most copas are about 5 €. Capote is
crowded every night of the week.
Bauhaus
Marqués de Paradas, 53
Tel. 954 224 210
More of a lounge than a bar, Bauhaus draws a pretty good local crowd. A live DJ spins all night on the weekends and the dance floor stays strong until very late. If you are not in the mood to dance there are tables outside to enjoy the night. Definitely worth checking out for food, drinks, or dancing.
La Venencia
Julio Cesar, 8
This is a nice little spot for a drink outside. It is just off Marques de Paradas so you can either hang out there or use it as a place to start the night.
Noveccento
Julio Cesar, 10
This place is right next door to La Venencia and not much different. Another cool spot to stop for a drink .
Bestiario
Calle Zaragoza, 33
Tel. 954 213 475
Bestiario is more of a lounge than a typical bar. It has a live DJ spinning mostly Spanish pop. There are plenty of places to sit, relax and talk to friends and if you feel like dancing there is a small dance floor right next to the bar. During the day, it´s a cafe, but at night, it turns into one of Sevilla´s trendiest places.

El Centro
This section refers to the central part of the city around the Cathedral area.
Hotel Doña Maria
Don Remondo, 19
This should be the first place you take visiting friends and family. The hotel bar is
located on a terraza with a stunning view of the Cathedral lit up at night. The lights
go out at midnight so make sure you get there early enough to enjoy the view.
Antigüedades
Argote de Molina, 40
Located on a winding street right by the Cathedral. This bar is very interesting. There are stuffed dolls hanging from the ceiling, and it seems like they are all staring at you. The décor changes monthly from giant tarantulas to large cages to masks. Good priced beers and a fun place to hang out, though it gets a little crowded on the weekends.
La Carbonería
Calle Levies, 18
The most famous bar in Sevilla is home to free Flamenco shows every night of the week. The first room, which seems like a cave, has everything from piano playing to electric guitars. The back room houses the Flamenco stage and bar. Great atmosphere and not too crowded on Mondays and Tuesdays.
Texas Lone Star Saloon
Calle Placentines, 25
Tel. 954 560 491
Tex-Mex is what you will hear everyone calling this place. Great drink specials on Wednesday nights, and you will be able to catch all the football games here live on Sunday nights. This place usually gets pretty crowded on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights. Always get there early on Sundays to get a seat for football.
P. Flaherty
Calle Alemánes, 7
Tel. 954 210 451
This is the most popular tourist bar in Sevilla. Located right next to the Cathedral, Spaniards and tourists flock to Flaherty´s to watch football games on the big screen or drink outside in the light of the Cathedral. Beers are a little more expensive than other bars down the street, but the atmosphere is hard to beat.
Terraza Chile
Paseo de Colón (Pabellón de Uruguay)
Chile is located on Av. de las Delicias past the American embassy. Music plays until about 6 a.m. and it has reasonably priced drinks.

Alfalfa
Alfalfa is one of those areas that's lined with bars and restaurants. You can almost always find
a crowd of people here.
Cabo Loco Bar
Calle Perez Galdos, 26
This is a small rectangular bar that serves stiff drinks at great prices. Just like the other bars on the street, Cabo Loco is a cheap place to drink, and the atmosphere is somewhat Caribbean, somewhat Hawaiian. It is normally very crowded and often takes awhile to get a drink. Once
you have one though, you can take it into the street and do whatever you wish. Sometimes, I
pour mine all over the person to my left.
La Rebótica
Calle Perez Galdos
This is a shot bar. A very large shot menu hangs on the wall by the bar, and they have almost every shot you can imagine. They also sell macetas (gymongous), plastic cups of just about any mixed drink you want for between 3 and 5 € each. The walls of the bar are plastered with cartoon porn, and it's always entertaining when someone for the first time realizes what they've been staring at while waiting for the next shot to be ordered. La Rebótica is a great place to start the night on someone's birthday.
Nao
Perez Galdos, 30
This is yet another fun little spot on the Perez Galdos bar parade. It can get crowded because of its proximity to the plaza and is a cool place to hang out and drink in the bar/street.
Sopa de Ganso
Calle Perez Galdos
This is probably the largest bar on the street and the only one with a dance floor. It's usually very crowded on the weekends with lots of Spaniards dancing in a large circle to David Bisbal. Tapas are served late, but once the kitchen closes it´s only alcohol. A great place to go if you are in Alfalfa and in the mood to dance.
Berlin
Calle Boteros, 2
Located on the backside of the Plaza de Alfalfa, anything goes at Berlin. It is open at all hours and usually packed with an odd mix of college kids, local hipsters, bums, and drug users. If you have a late night or feel like a cheap beer, you will wind up here. When you are the only place open, I guess you attract all kinds.
Bar Gran Tino
Plaza de Alfalfa, 12
This is your standard Sevillano joint right smack in the heart of Alfalfa. Here, you can sit all day and order tapas and drink beer. Nothing really distinguishes this spot other than it is just a great place to hang out in the plaza.
Alfalfa 10 (Ambrosius)
Plaza de Alfalfa
This is a cool little joint that is popular with the Alfalfa crowd. They offer good café, pastries, and even a few computers to check your email. It is a cool little place to hang out on lazy afternoons.
Bar Alfalfa
Calle Alfalfa, 6
A little farther up from the plaza, you'll find this bar. It is a good little hangout with cheap drinks and tapas.
Plaza de los Terceros
This area is tucked away near the Plaza de la Encarnación, and it has a good mix of bars, restaurants, and even some Flamenco places.
El Rinconcillo
Calle Gerona, 43
This is supposed to be the oldest bar in Sevilla, but Sevilla is pretty damn old. Maybe romans used to hang out here and drink ale before torturing slaves. Now, it is a great place for real Sevillan flavor. You cannot get any more typical than this joint.
Taberna los Terceros
Calle Sol, 11
Interesting tapas and well priced drinks are the call at the Taberna. The tables are all thrown together in the plaza, and it makes for a good atmosphere, especially on Sundays.
La Huerta Mediterránea
Plaza de los Terceros, 9
Another one of the cooler spots in the Plaza de los Terceros. Good drinks and delicious food.

La Alameda de Hércules
La Alameda is the closest thing Sevilla has to a hippy hang out. Some spots here are a little sketchy, while others are fun and unique.
Cafe Jazz Naima
Calle Trjano, 45
Just outside the actual Alameda you find this hip little jazz bar. They have a cool atmosphere and even offer live jazz on the weekends.
La Buena Estrella
Calle Trajano, 51a
Right on the corner of the Alameda, this is another cool spot that has tables outside and can also offer live music.
Intermedio
Alameda de Hércules, 7
This is a large bar with a cool feel to it. They have tables inside and out, and it attracts a good young crowd.
La Sirena
Alameda de Hércules, 34
Here you can find live local musicians, and they serve up cous-cous on Sundays.
Bule Bar
Alameda de Hércules, 83
This is another standard Alameda bar, but this one attracts a pretty good crowd on weekend nights.
Cafe Eureka
Alameda de Hércules, 64
This is a bar/cafe that serves up both drinks and tapas. It is towards the far end of the Alameda, and it has a modern look to it.
Bar Central
Alameda de Hércules, 63b
You can find a good crowd milling around outside this spot almost any night. Like most bars in the area, it offers decently priced drinks and a young crowd.
Piola
Alameda de Hércules, 57
This place has a hip little environment to it and is one of the more modern looking outfits in the Alameda.
