So why is it called the "Golden Tower" when it's not at all golden? Well this monument,
located next to the Guadalquiver River and built in the13th century, once had gold tiles
that covered the top of the monument.  The tiles would relect in the sunlight, making
the tower an eye-catching fixture in Sevilla.  During the Arab occupation, this tower used
to be a main point of defense and used to control the river.  Today, the Torre del Oro
houses the local maritime museum.
