Museo de Bellas Artes was once a convent, Convento de la Merced.  It
then opened in the middle of the 19th century as a Museo de Pinturas, which
only featured works from convents and churches.  Today, the museum is completely renovated and is now well-known for its paintings dating from the
15th to 17th centuries of the Seville School.  The works featured by Murillo, Zurbarán, and Valdés Leal are the most representative of the collection.  This museum is even said to be the second best art museum in Spain, only behind the Prado in Madrid!
