Located in the very center of Sevilla, Ayuntamiento, or Town Hall, separates the historic and shopping districts of the city.  The 19th century renovation on the
side of the building facing Plaza Nueva is an excellent example of neo-classical design, while the side often featured in guide books and photos, facing Plaza San Francisco, is a wonderful example of Renaissance architecture.  This side of the building features an ornate style that depicts the mythic characters Hercules and Caesar, who as legend has it, founded the city of Sevilla.  If you visit Ayuntamiento, be sure to stop into the DiscoverSevilla office, which is only about a 30 second walk away!
