Metro

The metro is finally open in Sevilla. It is a cheap and very quick way to get from one side of the city to the other. The best thing is that there are no bums sleeping there, and it is well lit and monitored. Furthermore because it is so new it doesn’t have a funky underground smell yet.

There are three metro zones. The zones define how much a metro pass costs. For example to travel within the same zone it is called 0 saltos, moving between 2 zones is called 1 salto and finally traveling between 3 zones is called 2 saltos. The metro travels from Cuidad Expo to Olivar de Quintos with important stops in Plaza de Cuba, Prado de San Sebastian, and Nervion.

A one-way single ticket 0 saltos costs 1.30
A one-way single ticket 1 saltos costs 1.55
A one-way single ticket 2 saltos costs 1.75
A return ticket costs 2.60 €, 3.10€, 3.50€ depending on the saltos
A day pass costs 4.50€
A rechargeable pass starting a 10€ makes your trip cheaper at 0.80€, 0.90€, 1.15€ depending on the saltos.
If you happen to be over 65 years old then you can receive a senior discount.

Tranvía

There is a tranvía, otherwise called tram to us English speakers, that runs from Plaza Nueva to Prado. You can use the metro cards on the tram or purchase tickets right at the stations that are located in Plaza Nueva, Constitución and San Fernando.

Taxi

There are about 2,000 taxis in Sevilla on any given day.  Available taxis are easy to spot by the bright green light on their roof.  Normally, you can find a parked taxi in the following areas:

Plaza Nueva
Plaza Alfalfa
Plaza de Cuba
Plaza Encarnación
Gran Plaza
Plaza Duque
And any other place called plaza

If you cant find a taxi, you can always call one. Keep in mind though that the meter begins when they get your call.
Radio Taxi - 954 58 00 00
Tele Taxi - 954 62 22 22
Radio Teléfono Giralda - 954 67 55 55

If you lose anything in a taxi cab you can go to the Oficina de Objetos Perdidos.  It is located across the street from the Prado de San Sebastian bus station at the following address:

Calle Manuel Vazquez Sagastizábal, nº 3.
954 42 04 03 or 954 42 07 03

Buses

The big orange buses run through Sevilla all day long.  They can get crowded and smell funny, especially if there are old men on board.  Occasionally, you'll feel a finger poking in your back because a little old lady wants to get by.  Once
I saw a woman with a beard, I shit you not.

A single bus ticket costs 1.20 €
If you ride the bus frequently it would be wise to purchase a bonobus.  They
are valid for 10 trips, without transfers, and cost 5.00 €
A bonobus with transfers costs 6.00 €
There are also 30 day passes with unlimited trips from the first day of use
and a tourist pass, also unlimited, for either 1 or 3 days.
28 € for a 30 day pass
3.25 € for 1 day tourist pass
7.50 € for 3 day tourist pass

All bus passes can be purchased at the kiosks in these three locations:
Prado San Sebastian
Plaza Nueva
Plaza de la Encarnación

Note:  There is a bus (the EA line) that goes to San Pablo Airport from  Prado de San Sebastian and back, stopping at Santa Justa train station and Nervion along the way.  You cannot use your bonobus for this bus.

2.10€  for one-way
3.50 € for round-trip

If you leave anything on the bus you can call Objetos Perdidos at 954 55 72 22. For general information you can call 900 71 01 71 or consult their website at
